A poem for Mother's Day

by Naomi Black

With or without,

This day can bring a sting.

Of painful memories,

Of empty place,

Of what should have been,

Of what almost was.

In the grey mist of this day

May you know comfort

Wrapping around you,

May you find time

To hold old memories close

And may you see light

Breaking through even

The darkest cloud.
